The craft hard ciders at Blue Toad Hard Cider may be the closest anyone has come to capturing the essence of an American autumn in a glass. The company uses only apples sourced from Virginia and Western New York for its ciders, using three to four varieties of apple in each creation for a well-rounded flavor. Of course, while its three flagship ciders might have you sipping and recalling that time of year when the leaves first begin to fall, its brewers are always experimenting with seasonal ciders that have fans returning year-round. Drop by one of the tasting rooms and you might find a black cherry cider made using real cherries from Washington state, or a pineapple cider that conjures up memories of summer, even on the coldest day of the year.
