Perfect weekend, just me and my son. It was several days of "firsts" for him. Plenty of opportunities to be stretched and challenged. He says it's the best trip ever. The staff was amazing. The camp grounds were clean.

We went with a group of 6 and if the kids didn't like it, I would have given it 2 stars. Pros, the camp was clean and the kids enjoyed the tomahawk throwing and paint balling for the most part. Cons, overpriced (plan on spending at least $120 dollars on paintballs, but that was fine because we expected this), the paint ball field was over crowded, at one time we had 34 people on the field. Too many for 1 ref to oversee. Not sure if some of the players were "regulars" or "employees" with their high velocity paint ball guns that would continue to shoot after players have surrendered, including the kids in my group. The masks would fog up and my gun didn't work at all during the last 2 games. If it wasn't for the jerks on the field, I could have overlooked the other things. Advice to Camp Dakota, get a grip on this issue.

Camp Dakota is not for older kids by any stretch. After the groupon it will cost another 500$ to do anything other than wait for your APPOINTMENT time to shoot bows and throw axes. The course is set up for 10 feet give or take. We had 15 year boys next to 7 year old Girl Scouts. No matter how well the boys behaved they are still 15 and the little girls are still 7. To rock climb, SET ANOTHER APPOINTMENT, and then be side to side with 4 year olds. The harness are tight, I took 15 year old young men, my son alone is 6'4". The harness is placed side by side the groin area, ok if you are just a bunch of boys. Not ok with 4 and 5 year year old babies. I believe it can be understood what I am alluding to. The manager flat out refused to let my over grown boys go play on the obstacle course unless I payed another 150$. So my boys rocked climbed as long as they wanted to. Thank the manager. With the groupon it cost another 120$ in paintballs then 60$ in a couple of pizzas and waters. No not a chance I would take little kids there because of teenagers and I would not take teenagers there because of little kids. It is a lose lose.
