It's clear from one look at the menu that the chefs at Pizzaiuola's Wood Burning Pizza don't take themselves too seriously. They delight in dreaming up such creations as the mascarpone polenta fries and the Nachos Italiano, mountains of chips smothered in an asiago pepper-jack fondue and topped with crumbled sausage and caramelized onions. The chefs also showcase their playfulness by crowning a sandwich with chicken fingers and mac 'n' cheese bites, and by transforming the Jersey pork roll into a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese pizza.
Yet despite their irreverence, they don't take the quality of their ingredients lightly. They use San Marzano tomatoes in their sauce, make their own mozzarella for pizzas, and sprinkle Sicilian sea salt onto dishes.
