Mission + Goal ACT Today! is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to raise awareness and provide treatment services and support to families to help their children with autism achieve their full potential. Our goal is to introduce and help facilitate early and on-going treatment by providing the necessary resources (including referrals, funding and guidance) to individuals with autism and their families. Studies demonstrate that early and intense intervention is important when treating individuals with autism, yet sadly many children with autism must go without vital interventions due to financial restraints. ACT Today! strives to provide necessary services so that each child with autism can reach his or her highest potential. Impact + Programs ACT Today! ‘s Quarterly Grant Program has provided over 1,220 grants for autism care and treatment to individuals with autism across the country. The average household income of ACT Today! grant recipients is below $30,000.  In order to prevent misuse of funds, the grant is never distributed to the families; rather, treatment grants are distributed directly to recognized service providers. ACT Today! has provided grants for the following care and treatment services, including: Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy, speech and occupational therapy, bio-medical testing and supplements, assistive technologies (i.e. iPad, communication apps), safety equipment (i.e. fencing, GPS tracking devices), autism service dogs, social skills groups, special needs summer camps, and much more. In addition to direct service grants, ACT Today! has funded the Autism Film Program for Military Families to teach teens job skills in the filmmaking industry and Autismo y Familia, a free autism conference in Spanish to educate families from signs and diagnosis to community resources and how to obtain services. A few of ACT Today’s major programs include Quarterly Grant Program, ACT Today! for Military Families, ACT Today! Español, ACT Today! SOS, and Safety Today!. Testimonials acttoday2"There are no words to describe the appreciation we have for ACT Today! and the members of your organization. One of our biggest worries was that the yard was not fenced. Having a child that works hard to escape and has wandered away numerous times, fencing is not an option. It is a necessity. ACT Today! awarded us with a grant to provide fencing for our home. It was an amazing blessing. Every day we experience so many trials it is hard to remember good things are still happening. This organization is one of those ‘good things’.” - Camille and Caragh's Family     Acttoday3"Thank you so much for providing the grant for an iPad for my son Andrew. His father recently passed away unexpectedly and it has been very hard on our four children. Andrew is considered non-verbal. The speech therapist has been using the new iPad with Andrew along with the speech apps on there and we have started to see miracles in Andrew's speech and behavior. He has even started to say "Momma" to me more now and I have waited over 10 years to hear him say that!" The iPad has been more than "just an iPad" but a new way of life for Andrew and our family. We are forever grateful for your grant during this most difficult and tragic time.” - Linda (mom)       How to Donate  Credit Card ACT Today! accepts online donations in any amount, one-time or recurring.
