Travel and commuting are becoming part of our everyday lives again, but things have changed. With the current shortage of for-hire cars and drivers and the high demand for rides as the world starts opening up again, travelers are faced with outrageous rental car prices and sky-high fares for ride-sharing options. Uber prices were an average of 40% higher in April 2021 than April 2020.

To save you some hassle on your next trip, Groupon Coupons did some digging into ways to save on airport taxi services. There are several ways to make your travel more convenient and a little cheaper with Booking.com (check out our Booking.com Coupons page to find a few), including their airport taxi service. Schedule your ride ahead of time using Booking.com, and an airport taxi will be waiting for you when your flight lands. 

What You Need to Know About Booking.com’s Airport Taxi Service 

Avoid surging prices and other fees with a fixed price. Ultimately, the cost will vary based on the distance you’re going. But with Booking.com, your airport taxi cost will be fixed once you confirm your ride online. Unlike most other ride services, all taxes, fees, gratuity, and toll road charges are included in that upfront cost. There are no extra costs and no cash needed—that means no frantically searching the airport for an ATM and no calculating a tip in your head. It’s all booked and paid for ahead of time. 

Booking an airport taxi may not be your cheapest option if you are also considering ride-sharing apps such as Uber and Lyft, but you are assured of the cost upfront. With ride-sharing apps, prices are not fixed and you run the risk of needing a ride when they are surging—which is pretty common these days.

There will be a driver waiting for you up to 45 minutes after your flight lands.
Even if your flight is delayed, you are covered. Booking.com tracks your flight to ensure your ride is there when you need it. Plus, you’re given 45 minutes after landing so you'll have plenty of time to deplane, pick up your luggage, grab a snack, and hit the restroom. You won’t need to wait around for a driver to accept your ride and drive to you or get in a long line for a cab—someone will be waiting there just for you.

You can also schedule a pick-up to be taken to the airport from any location. In this case, your driver will wait up to 15 minutes beyond your scheduled time. 


How to find your driver: Once you have confirmed your airport taxi pick-up, you should receive a confirmation email with instructions on exactly where to meet your driver. As your pick-up time draws nearer, you should also receive a text from your driver. 



You can cancel (free of charge) up to 24 hours before your scheduled pick-up time. Plans change, things come up. If that happens, no sweat—you can cancel or reschedule your ride without being penalized as long as it is at least 24 hours before your pick-up. We’ve found that most other services have a much shorter cancellation window.
