Though the ghosts that haunt the average home are content to flip through magazines and occasionally steal a $20 from your wallet, some homesteads house more ghastly ghosties. Accelerate natural hair whitening with today's Groupon: for $15, you get VIP tickets to both 13th Floor and Blood Shed, two of the bone-chilliest haunted houses in Denver. This Groupon is valid through October 28.
VIP Fastpass tickets save you from longer lines, giving you less waiting time before heading into the terror. If you've ever wondered why most buildings don't have 13th floors, you'll find out when you lead your scared sweetie and ghoulish gang through the unlucky ward of this 13th Floor. As you travel the gauntlet of gory corpses, apparitions come and go through the fog and creepy characters lurk around each narrow twist and turn. The 13th floor keeps top-quality frightfulness by hiring professional makeup artists and creating sets that rival even those of the most terrifying Hollywood movies, such as Computer Beach Party (click here to hear more about the 13th Floor's methods in its feature on the Travel Channel). Then, step into the horrific hillbilly manor of Blood Shed. The decrepit farmhouse paints a graphic scene of one family's sick and twisted way of life. Check out the horror throughout the dark yard and in the affectionately named "blood shed."
Located in the heart of Denver at 4120 Brighton Avenue, both murderous dens are open nearly every night in October, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays (click for 13th Floor and Blood Shed schedules). There is a parking lot on the east side of the building, and children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
Reviews
Halloween Denver reviewed the chilling 13th Floor and it was featured on the Travel Channel.
- One thing that really stood out in this particular haunt, were the props looked very movie quality real....The acting I felt was fantastic. The little scenes I thought were great! The smoke was perfect! I like it when you can’t see much in front of your face and don’t know exactly where you are going. Over all, I really loved this entire haunt. – Halloween Denver
