Andrea McArdle and Kip Gilman star in this off-Broadway play set entirely on a commuter train. Two strangers, an uptight psychologist (McArdle) and an unemployed loose-cannon ad man (Kip Gilman), find themselves alone together on a San Francisco BART train at 4:00am, each absorbed in their own The New York Times crossword puzzle. But before their crosswords are solved, they find that they may have solved the puzzles of their own lives. The 80 minutes of sparkling dialogue between the two transitions from polite banter to moving emotional catharsis as these two unlikely conversationalists roll down the tracks toward a destination neither of them saw coming. Playwright Jerry Mayer is no stranger to writing quality comedy. His talents as a television writer on shows like M*A*S*H, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show and All in the Family translate perfectly to the live stage in this witty look at the ups and downs of male/female relationships. Watch as these two stage veterans fill in the blanks of love at St. Luke's Theatre.
