We ended up trading in our purchased groupon of the Tea and Chocolate class for Afternoon Tea. The tea and chocolate class is only held on Tuesday nights, which was not stated on their website but it was nice of them to let us swap. As for the Afternoon Tea, well the tea was good. When you arrive, you get to select a tea (brewed in your own small pot) and you are given a cupcake, a bon bon, a truffle and a couple milk chocolate and dark chocolate discs. At least this is what we were originally told. We were allowed to change out the cupcakes afterward if we wanted, but not the truffle. I'm not sure if we received a bon bon, because what we got looked like a small rectangular chocolate, but it did taste good. We did receive the small chocolate discs. Overall the taste was just ok. The tea was the best part and we got to thankfully bring the rest home. But it definitely was not worth the price, even at the groupon discount. If we had went to their location and just purchased tea, a cupcake and the other small chocolates provided it would have probably have been cheaper. I can't unfortuntely speak for the class, since we didn't get to attend. Based on the prices on their website, though, this afternoon tea was $25 a person. We paid $23 for two people from the groupon and I still don't see what we paid for. As for the atmosphere, the woman that helped us was nice, although she did spend most of her time on her cell phone and the other girls were setting up for a bithday party. We were seated next to a window drinking our tea and eating our chocolate and felt a bit out of place and were mostly left to ourselves. This Afternoon Tea was sceduled for an hour and we ended up staying about only 15-20 because there was nothing else to do. I think we would go back to get a cup of tea, but that's about it.

About 2 Chicks with Chocolate

After a debilitating car accident left Elyissia Chinchilla’s mother, Barbara, unable to commute to work, she stayed busy in the kitchen, devising her own homemade chocolates. Nine-year-old Elyissia would then load her mother’s sweets into a shopping cart and sell them door-to-door around the neighborhood, learning entrepreneurial skills that would last a lifetime. After leaving a telecom job as an adult, Elyissia returned to selling chocolates by founding 2 Chicks with Chocolate (the other chick being her mom), teaming up with a master chocolatier and lead chocolatier. The dessert innovators create diverse flavors, such as spiced pear and caramel ganache, s’mores, and hazelnut praline, from scratch with spices and sea salt. The store also hosts chocolate classes and enlivens parties with chocolate fountains and chocolate tastings.
