Jungki Kwan Midwest International Hapkido USA is offering a six-class Women's Self-Defense course, normally $149, for just $49 - that’s 66% off the normal $149 price! JKMIH is conveniently located in Wicker Park at 1385 N. Milwaukee. Choose from two different class times: Sunday morning from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., or Thursday evening from 6-7:30 p.m.
Master Kevin Sogor has more than 25 years of experience teaching women to defend themselves. His successful six-class program, entitled "BACK OFF!," has been wildly popular in Europe, where he's taught more than 50,000 women to defend themselves. Each 90-minute class offers a core set of tactics based on real-life situations, and students leave with a variety of methods they can use to overcome an attack.
Groups of girlfriends often take the course together and have a blast practicing their new self-defense techniques in common role-playing scenarios. You'll learn everything from how to stop the overly aggressive guy at the bar to skilled moves specifically designed to defend against sexual assault.
We all know it's an urban jungle out there. Some criminals, having adapted to the increase in women with sharpened self-defense skills, now purchase protective cups and goggles in order to be resistant to the kick-in-the-balls and mace-in-the-eyes maneuvers. You need a few more tricks up your sleeve to be safe. You need this class.
JKMIH's women's self-defense classes will help you feel safe walking the grittiest streets. After all, who is going to protect you? Your noodle of a pseudo-boyfriend? Forget it. If he runs away from commitment, he’ll certainly run away from a mugger’s knife. Maybe if you save HIS life from a mugger, Noodle Boy will actually go to dinner with your parents, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up. And even though JKMIH insists you not use your new powers for unprovoked violence, you'll always have that option. Ever want to tear out your boss’s still-beating heart and show it to him? Well, now you can learn to do it with your bare hands.
Prospective students must snatch the pebble from the instructor’s hand or call ahead at 773-252-4470 before the first class to determine availability. Please be advised that, as this class is held in a hapkido center, the instructor’s voice is poorly dubbed, but subtitles can be purchased for an additional fee. Students may start any week that a class is offered, then continue for six consecutive classes. You will not be able to create balls of energy to throw at your opponents until you graduate to JKMIH's other hapkido and kuhapdo courses. Fights to the death are by invitation only.
