If you've never been to Manny's, you're not yet an official Chicagoan - Time Out Chicago calls it Chicago’s most quintessential restaurant. One of Obama's personal favorites, Manny's is a 67-year old, down-to-earth, family-run, cafeteria-style Jewish deli. Their delicious delicatessen foods are a well-known Chicago favorite. Perhaps most notable is their corned beef sandwich, which is renowned as one of the best in town, probably because it's stuffed with more juicy meat than its two slices of rye can actually handle, according to Metromix. The pastrami and roast beef sandwiches are also sure bets. Manny's is known for their fine meats, but vegetarians, fret not...there is a veggie burger! Check out their menu.

It's well documented that President Obama loves Manny's. And recently, Obama and his new Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel were spotted planning policy over corned beef sandwiches and macaroni and cheese. One patron claims they saw Obama & Emmanuel eating while planning some last-minute environmental policy changes over an EPA map, when Emmanuel bit into his juicy corn beef, squirting juice all over the map. "Oops!" Obama quipped. "No time to redraft this doodly! Yar! S'pose we'll declare that stain a superfund site!", at which point all the patrons chuckled, which was awkward because it revealed that everyone was eavesdropping.
There is sure to be more remarkable history taking place at Manny's. So get your Groupon and be there to see it happen.
Manny's Cafeteria and Delicatessen
More than 50 years on, Manny's Cafeteria and Delicatessen remains a family affair for the Raskins. The restaurant is now in the hands of the third and fourth generation of the family, whose members work to maintain their tradition of crafting homestyle Jewish-American dishes. Within a classic cafeteria setting decorated with news clippings, photos, and thumb-wrestling second graders, chefs draw from practiced recipes for matzo-ball soup, housemade chocolate phosphates, and chewy latke. The sandwiches, which were lauded by Time Out Chicago, include Manny's famous corned beef, made with a hulking three-quarter-pound pile of juicy brisket, as well as other signature sandwiches. As if that weren't incentive enough, Manny's offers free parking behind the restaurant.
