500 Degrees

As guests enter the doorway surrounded by the brick facade of 500 Degrees, memories of old Derby are alive and well in their classic space across the Naugatuck River. While seated underneath pressed tin tiles, sconces which cast a warm light around the dining room, and within the 18' high brick walls, visitors can treat themselves to classic American dishes with Mediterranean, Asian, and Argentinian flair. The kitchen and staff unify under one purpose; to provide a friendly and historic-feeling atmosphere that can be rivaled only by their fusion dishes, appetizers, and desserts.

At lunch, guests can opt for small plates like the ricotta-stuffed crepes before enjoying the french dip sandwich or gnocchi bolognese. At dinner, diners can order the tapas platter or vegetable spring rolls with a spicy ginger sauce, or opt for entrees like lamb shank paired with mushroom risotto or the plancha-seared duck breast with crispy garlic smashed potatoes. Of course, there are always the steaks to consider, grilled to customer specifications in an array of cuts, like the New York strip steak in peppercorn sauce, rib eye topped with frizzled onions, and hanger steak in a red wine sauce.

Anything steak here is excellent. Our waiter was very helpful and we had a wonderful meal. Will definitely return. They have specials very evening and are closed on Monday
