Nominated for five Tonys in five decades – the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, ’00s and ’10s – Linda Lavin is, quite literally, in a class by herself. Now the Tony and Golden Globe winner takes the 54 Below stage, performing Broadway favorites, standards, jazz and even some songs she learned firsthand from the “great girl singers” of yore. New York audiences remember her from It’s a Bird…It’s a Plane…It’s Superman, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Gypsy, The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife and many other productions, while the world over knows her as the star of the hit TV series Alice. A veteran of the cabaret stage, Lavin recently released her very first album, Possibilities. Now, she’ll be joined by music director Billy Stritch, Ron Affif (guitar), Steve Doyle (bass), Steve Bakunas (drums) and special guest violinist Aaron Weinstein for a memorable evening of songs and stories.
