Q:

Hi! I took a sewing class when a couple of years ago and know how to pretty much operate a sewing machine (the basic parts of the machine and the needle changing, and sewing things together..we sewed stuffed animals, shorts, aprons but all with basic stitch). The reason I want to take a sewing course is because I'm not sure which stitches to use for stretchy fabrics and just the intricate stitches), I only use the Basic stitch (nothing intricate) I'm not sure if not know Which stitch to use or how to change the stitch selection on my machine will hold me back from doing garment alteration class.

A:

It sounds like you know how to operate a sewing machine . I would suggest taking the "SEWING MACHINE OPERATION " if you feel you need a refresher on the machine and how it is operated - but the KNIT STITCHES used on stretch fabrics will be explained in GARMENT ALTERATIONS too. Hope this helps - and please let us know if you have other questions ~ Erika
