With Wine Tours, however, a staff of designated drivers not only ferry groups to the region’s wineries, they plan the entire route as well and schedule every visit in advance to maximize your time at each stop. Drivers can be as intrusive or invisible as you’d like—while they’re eager to share knowledge about local cuisine, wines, and the area’s history, you can also plug in a USB music player to listen to your own music in the vehicle—and Artisan Excursion can either help you pre-plan a picnic or squeeze in a stop at eateries along the way, such as the Los Olivos Café (as seen in Sideways).
