How long will be each class?

A:

A MAGI Belly Dance classes are 1 hour in length and great for a total fitness workout! Wear comfortable clothing such as sweats, yoga pants, tights, sports top, t-shirt and barefeet are recommended (we have hardwood floors). Classes begin with warm up stretches, progress with isometric isolations & abdominal core work, slow hip movements, then faster, exhilerating Egyptian style hip movements, combinations & traveling steps culminating in a cardio workout! Our classes are great for toning muscles, cardio health, improved circulation & flexibility. Explore your Goddess self!

Q:

Is it safe to participate in belly dancing when your pregnant? I want to exercise throughout my pregnancy but can't do a lot of the traditional things.

Belly dance is perfect for exercise during pregnancy since this ancient art form began as a ritual to strengthen abdominal muscles to prepare for child birth. When I was pregnant, I taught right up to the day of birth and had a very easy, natural child birth and short labor. You may have to adjust some of your movements especially as you get closer to child birth, but our instructors are knowledgeable about how to make the best of your workout and dance movements. Belly dance is a great way to tone up after child birth as well. It's an excellent form of dance exercise for all women of all ages, sizes, shapes and reasons! Looking forward to dancing with you!

More Info on A MAGI Temple beginners belly dance classes & schedule starting 1/2/13 are Monday 5:30pm, Wednesday 6pm, Thursday 6pm, Saturday 11am (Classical Egyptian style Belly Dance) and Tuesday 7pm (Level I ATS Tribal( We also offer Bollywood Wednesday 7pm, but do require that you take Beginners Belly Dance (Classical) first in order to get basics for high energy Bollywood class.
