can I use my health insurance benefit with this offer?

Edie M.  asked on  Dec 16, 2012

A:

If you are referring to your medical/eye Insurance policy covering LASIK, then It is possible that you can receive benefits. However, as LASIK is considered a Cosmetic Surgery, many companies do not reimburse patients. You can still purchase the groupon, we supply the billing information that you can submit and file with your insurance and try to be reimburse. There is no 100% guarantee that your Insurance will reimburse you.

AAPECS believes in providing equal care to all of our patients and offer the latest all-laser, CustomVue I-lasik to all qualified patients at the same price, with no additional charges. Our LASIK deals always include pre and post operative appointments, surgery, and warranty. The only other cost that you will pay is your medications for post operative care.

Q:

Can this type of surgery correct 47 year old eyes that just use reading glasses. So I guess this is my farsightedness. I forget the name of this condition. Maybe presbyopia or something like that. Learned it in an anatomy class. Please let me know.

Robin S.  asked on  Dec 12, 2012

A:

Monovision can allow patients over age 45 to see up close AND in the distance without glasses. With Monovision, one eye is corrected to see well in the distance and the other eye to see well up close. LASIK can be used for monovision corrections, but to know if you are a candidate for monovision you must try it using contact lenses prior to your surgery. The major problem with monovision is that many people are unable to tolerate it. .If you have no issues with your distance vision, but only reading things up close, than LASIK would not be an option to get rid of reading glasses.
