Sister stores ABC Bicycles and Trek Bicycle Store help patrons roll around town on a well-tuned bicycle of their own or atop a Trek rental bike. Choose between a comfortable hybrid bike or a high-performance road bike for a day of moseying over concrete prairies. The Trek 7200 and 7300, hybrid pedaling vehicles, ferry patrons to and fro in an upright seating position on leisurely rides down the Pinellas Trail or in tricycle-gang showdowns in downtown St. Petersburg. Great for quickly covering long distances, the Gary Fisher Rail Super and Trek 1.5 road bikes feature 20 speeds, allowing riders to reach velocities fast enough to create a fashionable cowlick or avoid fast-running cows' licks. Rentals include riding and safety essentials, including a water-bottle holder and flat pack for flat tires. Rentals can be picked up as early as 10:30 a.m. and returned as late as 4:30 p.m. the next day.

Alternatively, during the tune-up and adjustment, seasoned cycle technicians lubricate gears, tighten brakes, inflate wheels, and wipe down frames. To ensure a job well done, the bicycles are double-checked by a velocipede trainer before being returned to their owners, happily wagging their rear fender. Although the two stores are authorized Trek dealers, patrons can bring in bicycles of all makes, models, ages, and frame-flavors for service.

Origin Stories: Bicycle, Bicycle; I Want to Ride My Giant Bicycle

An avid bike-racer since age 12, Rick Fidanzato became skipper of ABC Bicycles at the young age of 23. In the 10 years since, Rick has opened another store and once helped a patron craft an ultra-high bike that put the rider’s seat well above the rooftops of passing cars. During the rare free moment, Rick tinkers with his '60 Cadillac and keeps plenty of James Brown, Stevie Wonder, and Rolling Stones mixed into his stores' eclectic playlist.
