What You'll Get
- $197 for one full-face Smoothbeam laser acne treatment ($685 value)
Dr. Colella wields an FDA-approved Candela Smoothbeam laser to noninvasively combat acne and acne scarring and minimize pore size. A skin technician first cleanses faces, removes the topmost layer of skin with a microdermabrasion treatment, and applies a topical anesthetic. Clients relax for 45 minutes so the anesthetic can numb the face. After the 45 minutes are up, the technician washes the anesthetic off and then leads clients to the laser room, where the doctor performs the procedure.
The laser creates microscopic wounds in the skin, which encourages the skin to produce new collagen and elastin and heal itself. It takes about six months to see the full results, and Dr. Colella generally recommends a series of 3–5 treatments. The treatment can also improve skin tone and smooth wrinkles.
