Q:

I see the Discovery Flight is for two, while the lesson is for one. My question is whether or not my wife will be able to accompany me and the instructor in the air for the flight portion of the lesson? She's not interested in licensing like I am.

Stefan W.  asked on  Dec 5, 2012

A:

Yes, you can bring your wife. She can ride in the back.

Q:

Is the discovery flight basically a tour of Austin kind of thing?

MARY J.  asked on  Dec 5, 2012

A:

It's not a tour although we do fly around the Austin area. It is designed to give you a feel for what flying is like in Austin

I'm interested in buying this for my 12 yr old son. Is there an age limit? I'm not sure which version I would purchase yet. Can he operate the controls in the discovery flight? If I do the introductory lesson for him, can I ride along (not flying......just watching)?

Q:

I'd like to give the $55 gift (intro lesson for two) to my husband and son. Would they take the class together and take turns at the wheel?

terry c.  asked on  Dec 4, 2012

A:

Only one can be the pilot. One can be a passenger. You would have to buy two flights if you want both to be the pilot.

Q:

I am interested in the introductory flight lesson for one, but I am a bit confused about what is included. Who is the pilot when we are "60 minutes in the air" ...? Do we actually get to fly the plane, or at least help, after our 90-minute ground lesson?

Julie H.  asked on  Dec 4, 2012

A:

Yes, you'll be doing all the flying with the instructor only helping as needed, usually on the landing. The intro flight is a 30 minute scenic "hands on" flight around the Austin area. We can take a passenger of at least ten years old. The pilot needs to be at least 13.
