Sometimes our dreams are within reach, but more often, those dreams are on the highest of high shelves, right beside the cupcakes "for tomorrow." Reach that shelf with today's Groupon: for $69, you get 10 classes at Absolute Yoga in Woodbury (a $170 value).
Absolute Yoga's instructors bring physical and mental harmony to yogis of all ages and fitness levels with an extensive selection of eclectic classes that earned the studio one of the best three spots on the Long Island Press's Best of Long Island list in 2011. The studio's schedule hosts more than 50 classes and 30 checkers tournaments each week, staging morning as well as evening sessions for a range of skill levels. Vinyasa Flow classes synchronize breath and movement to create fluid sequences at a dynamic and invigorating pace. More meditative gatherings include Candlelight Yoga, where students work through meditative sequences amid constellations of flickering roman candles, and the prop-assisted Restorative Yoga with its leisurely pace. Core Yoga hones musculature with deep yoga postures intended to promote stability and strength without forcing attendees to wear titanium ankle weights. The studio recommends arriving to class early and well hydrated, and although mats may be available for use, students are encouraged to bring their own or weave one out of spare bungee cords.
