Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Are the instructors able to work with 10 to 13 year olds interested in learning?

Lisa K.  asked on  Mar 28, 2013

A:

Lisa, As a guide for Acadia Mountain Guides I can say, without a doubt, yes we can. At Acadia Mountain Guides we love to teach, and teaching kids that want to learn is even more fun! Alex

Lisa, Thanks for your question. I would add to Alex's comment that we also have a summer climbing camp for youth ages 6 - 18. The website is climbacadia.org. Each season we offer over a dozen different camps for various ages and skill levels that range from 3 days to 7 days in length. The summer camps are in addition to our regular daily offerings all of which can be viewed at AcadiaMountainGuides.com. Hope to see you or your children out on the rock.

More Questions and Answers

Q:

How long is a "half day"? Are there specific hours that you run the trip/lesson?

Lisa K.  asked on  Mar 31, 2013

A:

Lisa, Another great question! A half day is a four hour time block. We stagger our starting times in the morning and afternoon, so you can catch the worm with our 8 AM start time, or sleep in with our 9 AM start time. Our afternoon start times are 1 PM and 2 PM. We feel these times help you pack more into your Acadia visit by allowing you to do other activities during your day. Alex
