What You'll Get
Much like the stagecoaches of the Old West, airplanes transport pioneers to the edge of a new frontier and are much more efficient when powered by jet fuel. Saddle a skywagon with today's Groupon: for $98, you and a guest get a 30-minute seaplane tour from Acadian Seaplanes in Rangeley (a $178 value).
Experienced pilot Keith Deschambeault elevates avian enviers in a Cessna 180 seaplane over the Rangeley Lakes Region, on routes he designed to achieve exclusive aerial views. Deschambeault's credits include thousands of flight hours, a commercial pilot's license, certifications to fly seaplanes and multiengine aircrafts, and a degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. His 30-minute tours provide passengers with a plane's-eye view of Rangeley and Mooselookmeguntic lakes before soaring over the historic Upper Dam. Then, newly outfitted air-legs gallop above the beaches and coves of Richardson Lake before soaring North over Richardson Ponds, Cupsuptic Lake, and the Kennebago River. Along the way, airborne eyeballs may also get views of a family of moose or other coat-rack-themed animals dwelling in their natural environment.
