Led by exemplary certified personal trainers who have all achieved significant weight loss as adults, Accomplish Fitness and Boot Camp’s sessions motivate students in an encouraging environment designed to boost fitness levels, weight loss, and self-confidence. Each one-month boot camp begins with a Saturday orientation, where campers have their weight, measurements, and body-fat percentage taken and carved into nearby trees before completing a fitness test that helps define their goals for the upcoming course. During the next four weeks of classes, instructors challenge bored muscles with a rotating routine of strength training, cardio, speed, and endurance exercises. Students must bring their own equipment, including a Pilates mat, water, sweat towel, and two sets of weights. At the end of each month, students may attend the next orientation for a reassessment, where they take new measurements, show off their progress to new campers, and, for those continuing on to another month of classes, reevaluate and update their fitness goals. Classes run three times per week, leaving students two days to take a break at barefoot camp.

Accomplish Fitness and Boot Camp

As happens to so many, Carron Schaer's youthful athleticism started to evaporate, leaving behind a sedentary adult lifestyle. But a desire to run and play with her young son inspired her to take up fitness again. With a combination of exercise and diet changes, she blasted away 55 pounds, pole-vaulting over that accomplishment to become a National Academy of Sports Medicine–certified personal trainer. In 2011, to help others find fitness success, she founded Accomplish Fitness and Boot Camp. It wasn't long before Sivan McCoy – a former member of the Air Force, an experienced triathlete, and an MMA fighter – followed in Carron's footsteps and came on as a boot-camp instructor.

Now, the duo leads daily boot camps at various outdoor locations. Their charges run, lift weights, and sweat beneath the gaze of the sun like a criminal sweats under the gaze of a detective made of fire.
