Welcome to Groupon, Evansville! For our inaugural deal, $15 gets you $30 worth of food and drinks at Acropolis Restaurant located on Green River Road in Evansville. Since this is everyone's first Groupon, allow us to briefly explain how it works.

How Groupon Works

Groupon is a combination of the words group and coupon. Each day, we offer an unbeatable deal on the best of Evansville: restaurants, spas, sporting events, theater, and more. By promising businesses a minimum number of customers, we get discounts you won't find anywhere else. We call it "collective buying power."

If you want to get the deal, just click BUY before the offer ends at midnight. If the minimum number of people (10) sign up by the end of the day, you'll be emailed a gift certificate the next morning. You can print your Groupons or redeem them with our mobile app. Use them whenever you want until the deal expires—today's expires in 6 months. If not enough people join, no one gets the deal (and you won't be charged), so invite your friends to make sure you get the discount!

Today's Deal

Even with their sights set on eternal glory, the well-greaved Achaeans besieging Troy had to break for dinner. Today's Groupon brings bounteous Hellenic fare across the wine-dark sea and straight into your mouth, the skilled breaker of horses: for $15, you get $30 worth of Greek and Mediterranean fare and drinks at Acropolis Restaurant.

Originally from Cyprus, a small island in the Mediterranean, Acropolis owner Doros Hadjisavva uses his culinary savvy to create lunch and dinner menus full of classic Greek and Mediterranean recipes. Start with an order of dolmades, grapevine leaves stuffed with spiced ground beef, rice and herbs and topped with homemade marinara sauce ($7), or the brandy-licked flaming saganaki ($7). Greek specialties, such as the gyros platter ($11) and tender lamb shanks ($18), awaken lethargic tongue buds with a savory alarm. For herbivores, the horiatiki, a Greek village salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, onions, feta cheese, olives, and oregano topped with homemade Greek dressing ($8.50), provides a tasty stomach-suitcase stuffer.

Acropolis’s main dining room features bright blue accents and green ivy twisting through the wooden ceiling trellises. The welcoming staff keeps dining experiences casual yet upbeat while lively music encourages rousing revelry and using a fork and knife to re-create well-known Perry Como dance routines.
