In ACT'S 14/48, Seattle's most daring theater artists load up on caffeine, pool their talents and let the creativity flow to create 14 world premiere plays in just 48 hours. The night before the show, everyone taps the Ceremonial Keg and participants choose a theme by completing this sentence: "Theatre would be a lot more interesting if there were seven ten-minute plays about _____." One answer is chosen at random and the game is on. That night the writers each write a play and submit it the next morning. That morning, the directors choose a play and a cast at random. For the rest of the day, each cast and crew puts together the play, establishing music with the band, building their sets and rehearsing. After 20 minutes of tech rehearsal, it's go time. The plays premiere and close after two performances in the same evening. A new theme is picked for the next day, and the whole thing starts all over again. It's crazy and fun, and it's your chance to see what happens when creativity goes wild.
