Q:

Can they make me play the piano?

James T.  asked on  Nov 25, 2012

A:

We can't "make" you learn piano but we sure can help you learn a new skill as we have many others who have wanted too. We can even speed up your learning process ten fold. Here's how: Using Hypnosis and NLP, we've helped hundreds of people develop confidence, increased concentration, and maximize their ability to learn effectively and retain information. The ability to focus and retain new information, such as learning t play the piano, is a skill and habit that must be practiced and honed just like any other skill. Sometimes it can be very difficult to focus our thoughts on the information at hand. For some people they simply feel too distracted for the information to be retained. Hypnotherapy is a rapid, effective, drug free way to learn to focus and retain needed information. Hypnotherapy has been proven very effective in allowing people to delete the distractions and become more calm, centered, and focused and therefore retain more of the needed information. Along with the ability to retain also comes the desire and ability to maintain your motivation and follow through until completion. Two major factors that adversely affect learning processes are low self esteem and lack of motivation. "I don't think I can do it" or "it looks so hard" or "maybe I'll try harder next time". Additional elements which can contribute to the problem include poor study habits, poor memory, absence of reward, and fear. Hypnotherapy can help stimulate the learning process, increase motivation, boost confidence, establish beneficial study habits, and reduce study and exam tension and stress. These combined with goal setting will let you emerge with purpose, direction and organization, and a new found enthusiasm and motivation to pursue your dreams. Achieving this success will ultimately make you happier and it carries over to other parts of your life. When yo feel more confident and self-assured you will easily seek new challenges and experiences and set higher goals. Once you open that door of possibilities, there is no telling where it will you.

Q:

On your web site for smoking cessation you offer three free appointments and a cd. Why would you buy this, if you offer the 3 free?

Joey S.  asked on  Nov 25, 2012

A:

The three free sessions mentioned are for the Stop Smoking Orlando (SSO) Program, not an individual session. Your Groupon can be converted into a smoking cessation "program" by adding the three additional support sessions (should you need them following a period of one year after your visit) by simply paying an additional $55 at the time of your session. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A quick overview of the actual program is a follows: You can become a non-smoker again, GUARANTEED, benefit from three free support sessions, get a complimentary back-up CD, as well as deduct it all from your taxes. We know from helping hundreds of other smokers that these decisions do not come easy and you need to move when ready. We will get you seen within 24 hours. Best of all, you can utilize our proven treatment in one visit - either at home, at our office, or even by tele-video conferencing (SKYPE). No need to wait, get started now with hypnosis for smoking cessation now. It includes: Your Complete Comprehensive Wellness Evaluation; Free Stress Release Hypnosis Session to ease the interim anxiety preceding your smoking cessation treatment; Same-day, evening, or weekend appointment with the Certified Hypnotist; Custom Support Session to use whenever you need it; Three complimentary visits from our hypnotherapist should you need them for a period of 12 months. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- More details can be found here: http://actnowcenter.com/services.asp?service_name=STOP+SMOKING+ORLANDO+%28SSO%29&main_cat=Mental-health&show=1 Also we are available from 7AM to 7PM, Monday through Sunday, at (407) 309-6104

Q:

I am a 77 year old man in excellent health. Lost my wife two yeas ago and have since met an attractive 63 year old widow. I'm bothered by ED. also i have a problem with my weight. Need to lose 25 lbs. Can you help me with either/both problems OR which one are you more likely to be best at? Also I used self-hypnosis and hypnosis about 15 years ago and "go under" very quickly.

Jim M.  asked on  Nov 28, 2012

A:

Yes, we can help yo with both. ED, provided you have had it checked for physical reasons by an MD, is OFTEN a result of anxiety build up. We can help put you back in control of your body. Sometimes there are other psychological factors that can cause the symptoms you are suffering with and hypnosis has worked well for our clients in that respect. We encourage you to try this before a sometimes unnecessary drug regimen. Weight management, changing or starting exercise routines, changing eating habits and making healthy choices are all excellently handled through hypnosis. And lastly, the fact that yo are familiar with hypnosis is always helpful but we help even the most skeptical of people everyday. If you need a more detailed answer, just call us at 407-309-6104 and we can help.

Q:

Your company website claims that hypnosis is "proven effective" in treating a wide range of mental health problems and can even increase breast size. I also see claims that hypnosis is more effective (and in less sessions) than traditional behavior therapy. Do you have any data to back up these claims? The only reference listed is from American Health Magazine, which does not appeared to be an actual peer-reviewed research journal.

Ashley A.  asked on  Nov 29, 2012

A:

These questions are often asked by other health professionals and occasional clients. Many of our clients describe their experiences in traditional behavioral therapy to be slow, arduous and laden with dangerous medications (meant only to treat the symptoms a person is experiencing such as depression, addiction, or anxiety and not the actual problem causing the symptoms). A vast majority of our clients come to us complaining that they just can't take dredging up the memories and uncontrollable emotions nor can they function day to day on their medications. Through referral from their physicians and often just on their own, these people find that our simple 4-5 visit hypnotherapy program (developed just for these types of scenarios) can effectively treat the underlying reasons that are causing the symptoms they have often suffered a lifetime with and are unable to face or reach in talk therapy AND that remain unchanged by a drug regimen. While the evidence in satisfied clients is not what you are looking for, here is a partial list of peer reviewed journals and studies that range outside the American Medical Association, the British Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association's approval of hypnosis that dates back as far as the late 1950’s as a viable scientific modality to treat certain problems: The International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis- peer-reviewed scientific journal which publishes hypnosis research four times a year: http://www.ijceh.com/ ; Contemporary Hypnosis Formerly the British Journal of Experimental and Clinical Hypnosis a peer-reviewed scientific journal: http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/cgi-bin/jhome/112094299 ; The American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis-The journal of the American Society of Hypnosis. A peer-reviewed scientific journal which publishes hypnosis research four times a year: http://www.asch.net/Public/AmericanJournalofClinicalHypnosis/tabid/162/Default.aspx ; The Australian Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis A peer-reviewed scientific journal which publishes hypnosis research four times a year: http://www.ozhypnosis.com.au/journal/journal.htm ; Sleep and Hypnosis An international journal publishing sleep, dream, and hypnosis research: http://www.sleepandhypnosis.org/ ; Journal of Mind Body Regulation A new online open-access journal sponsored by the Canadian Federation of Clinical Hypnosis: http://mbr.synergiesprairies.ca/cjh/index.php/mbr/index ; Division 30 of the American Psychological Association has some pertinent information as well: http://psychologicalhypnosis.com/info/ Another important point is today's studies in college, all be it only six weeks or so, state accredited colleges teaching psychology are also teaching hypnosis to their students. I hope this answers your questions/concerns. If you are seeking more information and research, you can Google and contact any of the following professional hypnosis bodies: International Society of Hypnosis, Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, European , Society of Hypnosis, British Society for Clinical and Academic Hypnosis (Formerly the BSECH), British Society for Medical and Dental Hypnosis, British Society for Medical and Dental Hypnosis - Scotland, American Society for Clinical Hypnosis, Australian Society of Hypnosis, American Psychological Association - Division 30 (Hypnosis Division), Chicago Society of Clinical Hypnosis (Component section of ASCH), American Psychotherapy and Medical Hypnosis Association
