Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Is this introductory lesson in a kayak, or is it in the river in waders?

Melissa M.  asked on  May 7, 2012

A:

This is mostly a class room setting with some on the water training. Waders are necessary in the colder months, and can be rented for $20 a set.

Q:

am interested in your groupon...does the lesson include equipment and license or do we need to have this? Or, rent from you? Thanks..

Diana B.  asked on  May 7, 2012

A:

A fishing license will need to be purchased from the state in advance, unless you would prefer to skip the fishing portion of the class. All equipment will be provided. If waders are needed, they can be rented for $20 a set.

Q:

Does the price include the use of equipment (fly rods and flies), or must we purchase/rent equipment above and beyond the $99 price?

Russell M.  asked on  May 7, 2012

A:

The only equipment to rent would be waders for $20 a set. Waders aren't necessary in the warmer months.

Q:

Is there an age limit on this class? Would it be enjoyable for an 8 or 11 year old?

Shauna M.  asked on  May 8, 2012

A:

We find that all kids have different levels of attention spans, as well as adults. In most cases, age 10 seems to be the youngest to be able to absorb all of the details involved in fly fishing. We do require adult supervision in these cases.
