Active Private Training
Fads, gimmicks, and unnecessary supplements—Active Private Training's founder John fights these fitness scourges off just as hard as his clients fight to get their bodies in shape. With nearly 35 years of experience as a trainer, John's had countless run-ins with get-fit-quick schemes, as well as equipment and supplements that at best are passive, and at worst, harmful. He taught himself to get in shape just out of high school in the 1970s. While he wishes he'd teamed up with a trainer to make the process shorter, his self-taught path led him to believe that the best way to a fit body are free weights, healthful foods, and correct supplements, along with a knowledgeable trainer.
Now John uses his decades of accumulated knowledge to train clients either at his home, their homes, or gyms around the Valley. After discussing the clients' goals, he formulates a fitness program that includes cardio and endurance exercises paired with weightlifting. To help them meet their goals and keep the results long-term, John also formulates nutrition plans, gives advice on different supplements, and recommends eating natural foods.
