The estetition was simply superb. She was skilled and had that special touch that makes a spa treatment so enjoyable.

Massage enhanced with hot stones and an aromatherapy scalp scrub or a massage followed by exfoliation and a hydrating facial

Like an iceberg, beauty resides largely below the surface, but only its visible portion can catch the eye of a strapping boat captain. Look ship-shape with today’s Groupon to Adelaide Spa, located within the Asheville Racquet Club on the property of the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Choose between the following options:

  • For $65, you get a one-hour Simply Spa package (a $140 total value), which includes:
  • A one-hour Swedish massage (an $85 value)
  • A hot-stone enhancement (a $15 value)
  • A relaxing scalp treatment (a $15 value)
  • Use of the dry heat sauna (a $10 value)

  • Use of the dry heat sauna (a $10 value)
  • A day pass to the Asheville Racquet Club (a $15 value)

Mod pendant lamps cast soft light on Adelaide Spa’s beauty therapists, who rejuvenate guests in sumptuous chambers with raw wood beams and thick, soft textiles. The Simply Spa package revives weary physiques with Swedish massage, whose five flowing strokes work in tandem to flush blood toward the heart, thereby flooding constricted muscles with oxygen. During the massage, a licensed therapist may knead or tap to release soft-tissue tension, hot stones placed along limbs to allow heat to slowly untie muscular shoelaces. A therapist concludes the spa session with a scalp massage, hydrating the skin and awakening the senses with peppermint and tea-tree oils.

During the Absolutely Adelaide package, a full-body scrub elevates the therapeutic benefits of Swedish massage, sloughing off dead cells and giving skin the texture of silk. A fitness facial clears and balances complexions with products from the Privai Skincare line, whose antioxidant-rich serums are gentle enough for many different skin types. An aesthetician cleanses oil and dirt from the skin’s surface before a mask, steam, and possible extraction purifies pores of blackheads.

On the day of their treatment, Groupon guests may sweat away toxins in the dry-heat sauna and shop for spa products with a 10% discount. A gift day pass to the Asheville Racquet Club’s downtown location, to be used at any point in the future, promises more complimentary sweat in the future.

About (d) Adelaide Spa At Crowne Plaza Resort Asheville

What do a resort hotel and the Battle of Asheville have in common? A sister-in-law. Well, her name at least. Emma Adelaide Clayton was the sister-in-law of George Wesley Clayton, the colonel who defended the city during the Battle of Asheville. The skirmish was fought on the land where Crowne Plaza Tennis & Golf Resort now resides. To commemorate the leader, the resort named their adjoining spa Adelaide Spa.

Though the beauty haven is named after a woman from the late 1800s, its interior is anything but dated. Mod pendant lamps cast soft light on therapists who rejuvenate guests in sumptuous chambers with raw wood beams and thick textiles. Aestheticians balance and tone skin with organic skincare products and refresh bodies with herbal body wraps and organic sugar scrubs. In the salon area, stylists cleanse, cut, and color manes using Redken, Kenra, and Moroccanoil products.

A complimentary robe and slippers await guests before each treatment, as do complimentary beverages and snacks. When guests arrive for appointments, they are also welcome to gargle the alphabet with herbal tea or use the resort's amenities, including the sauna and childcare services.
