What You'll Get

Vintage Ferraris ran on a high-octane fuel mixture of tomato sauce and mustache hair, which made them run forever but left ladybug-luring leaks in driveways. Power your body motor without having to share with today’s Groupon: for $20, you get $40 worth of creative Italian cuisine and drink at Adesso. This Groupon is valid at Adesso in Lakeview.

Specializing in cuisine pulled from the recipe Rolodex of three generations of Italian tradition, Adesso offers Chicago diners an exceptional dining experience of boot-shaped banqueting. Starters include the bruschetta Adesso ($8), topped with arugula, fresh ricotta, and oven-roasted tomatoes and accompanied by honey, prosciutto, and red onion marmalade, while the tomato basil soup ($6) invites spoons to cross its roasted, crouton-filled Red Sea. Adesso's main courses cover Italian favorites of both pasta and meaty distinction—the tre colori fettucine alla carbonara ($16) hosts pancetta in its noodle nooks, and the fusilli del bosaiolo ($16) saddles its spirals of pasta with sausage, mushrooms, and peas in a light tomato cream. Other entrees include gnocchi with roasted butternut squash ($14) and the maritime medley of the farmer's stew ($19), containing sautéed calamari, shrimp, clams, mussels, and scallops. Adesso also offers weekend brunch for caring diners who split their love equally between breakfast and lunch. Dishes include caramel apple pancakes ($8) and an egg panini ($8).

Pair the fine feasts with the wine or beer of your choosing, as both locations of Adesso are BYOB. Dig into the cardboard box of wine you received from your grandmother in exchange for Bieber tickets and pull up a chair with Adesso's outdoor seating in Lakeview for no-holds-barred people watching paired with flavorful Italian cuisine. Though there is a limit of one Groupon per table, there is no overall purchase cap. Grab enough to go on multiple dates with multiple dates on multiple dates. Like using a parachute during skydiving, reservations are not required but are highly recommended; call ahead to save a table.

This Groupon is valid for dine-in only.

Time Out Chicago, Chicago Reader, and Centerstage Chicago have these positive takes on Adesso:

  • It's BYOB; it's bustling without being a clubby mob scene; the design is sleek but comfortable; and the simple Italian dishes…are much-needed in this Italian-bereft 'hood. – Time Out Chicago
  • Simple ingredients stood out in a bruschetta of thick rustic bread, ricotta, and slightly roasted tomatoes topped with honey--the ricotta was the type of fresh that makes you wonder if you've ever truly tasted a food before. – Tasneem Paghdiwala, Chicago Reader
  • The roasted fig, prosciutto, fresh ricotta and honey bruschetta will have you wanting to shout a hearty [grazie] into the kitchen. – Kate Rockwood, Centerstage Chicago
