Thank You for asking this question and we are sorry to hear about your "flu" Symptoms, Given the number of visitors that our facility and the many other operators in Crystal River have proper Hygiene, Cleaning and Care of Equipment is something we take very seriously. To begin with, all equipment including mask, snorkels, and fins ( as well as wetsuits) are thoroughly soaked and cleaned in an antibacterial soap bath after each use. Often Masks & snorkels are also routinely subjected to a soaking in a mild bleach solution or sterisol (like bleach with less fading to product) All equipment is thoroughly rinsed in fresh water and allowed to dry completely before re-use . Our wetsuit are Guaranteed "pee free" as we do not permit guests to urinate in OUR wetsuits. (not a widely practiced policy, but Gospel here) Customers deemed to have done this are charged on their card for replacement cost of suit and they may take suit home. Moreover we have no desire to wash a wetsuit containing urine or feces. This is clearly explained to guest before the tour gets underway. Our Guests are quite happy to know the suit their renting wasn't used as a toilet the day before. Our Sanitation process continues on all surfaces daily of places where guests would come into contact, store door handles, boat guard rails, equipment bags, etc, thanks for the question.
