Hello, Thanks for your interest in the program. We'll try and answer each of your questions. Open water diver requirements require a minimum of ten minutes of bobbing, floating, treading and self survival skills in addition to a 100 yard swim demonstration of swim proficiency. Given the high volume of customer sign ups, space usually restricts already certified divers from accompanying others, moreover there are "legal" and financial ramifications for others being present in the class. Furthermore, since "other" are already certified it makes little sense for others to attend with the possible exception of parents accompanying minor in the class, something we recommend. Additional costs (if any) are predicated on class size, parties on boat etc/. The course itself is designed in two phases, phase 1 is home study academics (tuition) . Apprx 24 hrs of online or CD ROM based study, certifications fees, Instructor fees, Dive fees, Captain Fees, Certification, Log Book, CD Rom use included in the Groupon. Part 2 is entirely equipment based, Including 2 days use of New WetSuits, Brand New weight integrated BCD's, Octopus Regulators, with console, Mask, Snorkel, Fins,Tanks (26.00 in air fills) 2 Days use of Dive Computers (70.00 Value) all for $ 59.00 per person / per day. Actual cost would regularly cost around 145.00 per day.
The program required use of our equipment at the discounted price. Outside equipment may or may not meet the operational and safety performance required for the course, Past horror experiences with "flea market" "used" junk equipment won't soon be repeated, moreover ala carte rentals for items not in students possession often results in higher than package costs .So in conclusion, the course package represents exceptional value. in lessons and equipment.
