Breathing underwater, like eating fireworks, constructing a monument, and getting married, should only be attempted if you're confident you can do it. Take a deep breath of aqueous confidence with today's Groupon. For $30, you get $60 worth of scuba classes or equipment at Adventure Scuba.

Adventure Scuba, a PADI five-star IDC center, is home to a slew of experienced instructors who train divers during regularly offered classes. The Discover Scuba class ($60) is a quick way to get your gills wet with a 30-minute presentation and 45-minute scuba dip inside the cozy, high-visibility training pool. Open Water classes ($225–$475) take you on the path of certification and offer many oceanic insights into scuba lingo, pool training, and whale/human handshake ethics. If you're already certified, Adventure Scuba offers specialty packages such as the two-dive specialty course ($100), which includes the use of a boat, dry suit, computer, videographer, and more. Beyond instruction, the on-site shop stocks a variety of essentials, including bundles such as the student's equipment package (mask, snorkel, boots, fins, and defogging solution; $185).

About Adventure Scuba

For many, the depths of the world's oceans and lakes are places so unfamiliar they might as well be on another planet. For the team of experienced, thrill-seeking instructors at Adventure Scuba, however, they're just another place to explore. With one of these coaches for each three to four students on a pool dive, the PADI Five-Star IDC center leads any student aged 10 years and older into the underwater world through various classes focused on hands-on instruction. A PADI open-water certification course uses the controlled environment of the center's 90 degree pool to introduce basic equipment use and techniques, giving students the skills necessary to continue their training in local waters or recreate Jacques Cousteau's bachelor party.

In the warmer months, the center also offers a range of specialty dive certifications, such as advanced and rescue diving; it also hosts year-round classroom courses in Enriched Air Diving, CPR and first aid. Though Adventure Scuba provides much of its training equipment to students at no additional cost, its dive shop sells essential diving gear by manufacturers such as Oceanic, Henderson and ScubaPro.
