Q:

From reading about IPL treatment for brown spots on the face, I understand that you need at least 4 treatments. Can I buy 2 groupons since each groupon has maximum of only 2 treatments? If not, how much do you charge each treatment after that? On your website, it says $350/treatment. Is that going to be the price?

Kim N.  asked on  Nov 21, 2012

A:

You may buy two treatments via Groupon for yourself. We charge $350 per IPL treatment plus $18 if you use topical anesthetic.

I have white heads, will be able to take care of these white heads.

A:

If your "whiteheads" are caused by acne and are in the form of pustules, then yes. Otherwise, this may need a combination of acne bluelight and extractions.

Q:

What does "medical consultation required" mean?

Kym L.  asked on  Nov 20, 2012

A:

This is a medical doctor's office and all procedures performed are considered the "practice of medicine", therefore, no patient can be treated without being cleared by the doctor first. Regardless, all procedures are performed by the doctor only.

Q:

The groupon states a 60 minute IPL or blue-light acne-treatment facial but when I looked at your website, a blue-light acne treatment only takes 15 minutes. What does the other 45 minutes consist of?

Mary L.  asked on  Nov 19, 2012

A:

Time for the patient to arrive in the office. Complete documents if not already done so. Take photographs. Speak with Dr. McBeth. Apply anesthetic if needed, then proceed with the treatment.

Q:

sun spots/liver spots on lower right side of face, needs more than '2' applications, no? can we come in for counseltation prior to possible purchase? if yes please call (203) 981-7007 in Laguna Beach currently.

sam r.  asked on  Nov 19, 2012

A:

One cannot say exactly how many treatments it will take for a specific problem. The typical treatment course may be 2 to 5 sessions. However, with repeated sun exposure or hormonal stimulus, the discolorations can return. Therefore, after say 2-3 treatments in our hands, typical sun spots improve significantly and one would go onto a maintenance program say every 3-4 months which will suppress the discolorations and give an overall rejuvenated appearance of the skin due to increased collagen growth. You could come and have us look on Tuesday (11/20) or simply just email a photo of the problem you would like us to see to: docmcb@aol.com.
