Q:

We are considering a full day jet ski rental. We are renting a car (vacationing in La Jolla from OR) , and don't know if our rental car will have tow capacity. How does the jet ski get to Mission Bay ? I'm confused about the previous response that you provide us with one, what do you mean? Also, how do we reserve our day jet ski in advance of our vacation? Thanks.

It is available during that time. The only time it is not availabe is if previously booked and sold out, or a holiday or holiday weekend. You do not need a special license, just 18 and older and able to understand signage and warnings.

Q:

I'm a little scared after reading the reviews of people being charged for damage....what is your policy on this ? I understand something visual can be seen prior to renting. Do you charge if your jet skis have engine or mechanical issues to the customer? I don't see how they could tell this prior to renting? and as they are rentals they are going to have normal wear and tear issues....which could possibly be from previous renters? Thank You!!

Danalee s.  asked on  Jun 30, 2012

A:

You are 100% responsible for any damage to the jet ski, no matter who is at fault. 100%. If this is not agreeable to your senses then I would recommend you avoid the rental. All skis are inspected by my personnel and then inspected by the renter and my personnel. I cannot think of one time that I have charged a customer for wear and tear issues. The customer receives a safety brief and orientation prior to their rental period. If a customer listens and does what is recommended it cannot be damaged. The problems arise when people do what they should not do, do what is not allowed, let their friend drive or just plain dont care. I try to be as fair as possible with my customers. But when I do charge for damages it is because a customer abused the jet ski. and they are always the first to complain or write colorful reviews. I understand I can never put your mind at ease about the possible damages that could be charged, but every damage that I have charged for could have easily been avoided had the customer treated it like it was designed. That is the best that I can answer you question. Please read the colorful reviews with an open mind and Realize that the damages that are being complained about are driver mistakes not jet ski mistakes. The cost is always in accordance with use. If you do not take care of it, if you dont listen to the warnings that are preached to you over and over again, then you will probably be charged damages and repair fees.

A:

All units come on a trailer ready for you to tow, No business is allowed to deliver to the Mission Bay Park due to unbelievably stupid city ordinance that the lifeguards feel entitled to enforce. If you do not have a tow vehicle we provide one free of charge that you can use

Q:

I am interested in renting two Jet Skies, for my self and my three children (16, 13, 10). I will be responsible for both Jet Skis, and will drive one; the other one will be driven by my 16 year old son. They question is, does by son need to have a valid drivers license?

Pedram H.  asked on  Jun 29, 2012

A:

California law states that your 16 year old can drive by himself, he would not be allowed to drive your other children. It does not state that he needs a drivers license.
