If humankind never learned to play with its food, it would never have learned to play with its ingredients, and the world would be one bereft bowl of gruel. Taste the fruits of culinary creativity with today's Groupon: for $20, you get $40 worth of locally sourced gourmet fare at AG Inspired Cuisine, located inside the Sterling Inn & Spa in Niagara Falls. Helmed by an executive chef trained in classical French technique, AG Inspired Cuisine offers diners inventive dishes made with local and seasonal ingredients. Like the lyrics to the national anthem, the menu changes weekly and reflects the surrounding region, with entrees ranging in price from $25 to $35. Diners may pair a slab of tender venison or other local game with a regional wine vetted by the Vintner's Quality Association, or nibble on slow-cooked forest mushrooms and other creative sides by the glittering light of minimalist chandeliers. Specialty cocktails are also available from a sleek bar wreathed in neon light.
AG Inspired Cuisine won a 2010 AAA/CAA Four-Diamond award and a 2009 VQA Restaurant Gold Award of Excellence. It has been featured in Pulse magazine and in The Standard. The restaurant was also reviewed by Lynn Ogryzlo, Niagara this Week food critic and host of Niagara Express.
- Our dinner one evening at Chef's Table with 10 other guests was absolutely stellar and without hesitation I enter it into the top five meals I have ever had in Niagara. – Albert Cipryk, The Standard
- Clean flavours, elegant textures, nothing cloying or heavy, just elegance that teased the palate and was light on the stomach. – Lynn Ogryzlo, Niagara this Week
