Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

For the deal - $119 for an introductory flight lesson for two -- does that mean two different people will learn to fly? or two people can attend, one learns and the other is the passenger?

megan r.  asked on  Nov 19, 2012

A:

Yes Megan, two people take the flight lesson. One person rides in the "front/pilot" seat, while the other rides as a passenger. Then after twenty minutes, you will land and switch seating for the second person to fly. If for some reason the second person does not want to fly, that's ok too. They can just ride as a passenger. Whatever works for you!

More Questions and Answers

Q:

How does this differ from a "Discovery Flight" that you offer?

Lisa K.  asked on  Nov 25, 2012

A:

Our Discovery Flight is not as long (the Basic Discovery Flight, 1/2 hr), is for only one person, does not include ground time, and does not include T shirts. We do have an hour long discovery flight, but again does not include ground time or t shirts, and that one costs $180.

Q:

I am interested in the 3 lesson deal . I was wondering how much are flight lessons after the 3 lessons and what do you think the cost would be for a sport license vs a private license? - Thanks

Gene A.  asked on  Nov 24, 2012

A:

Great questions, Gene. For information regarding the business' full price services and licensing, I recommend contacting them directly at (609) 259-6877.

Definitely give us a call for the full scoop. However, I will tell you that we don't offer sport pilot at our facility.

Q:

I'd like to purchase the one-lesson Groupon for myself. Can my 5 year old son ride as a passenger?

Lisa K.  asked on  Nov 24, 2012

A:

Hey Lisa! While your son wouldn't able to pilot the plane, he could certainly join you for the experience!

Aaron K.  from  Self  replied on  Nov 24, 2012

A:

Yes, the above answer is correct, he can ride as a passenger. No age limit to be a passenger.

Q:

The fine print states "Reservation required 30 days in advance." I want to purchase this for someone's birthday which is in 2 weeks. Will this be an issue?

Lydia K.  asked on  Nov 22, 2012

A:

As long as there is availability then of course. It's just that in the past when we have done one of these promotions we had a very high volume of customers, all wanting weekends, so they started to pile up. As of now the schedule looks fine for two weeks from now. Feel free to give us a call to get exact dates and times. (609)-259-6877

Ilissa and Lisa S.  from  Merchant  replied on  Nov 23, 2012

Q:

I can purchase the 3 flight lessons for one (I dont want to be on the plane at all, this would be for my husband. I think this would really appeal to my husband so if he wanted to continue for more lessons to maybe obtain a pilot license (I really dont know that much about this at all and what it would even take to obtain a license is your facility able to help and or achieve it

Lisa S.  asked on  Nov 20, 2012

A:

Thanks for your interest. You definitely can purchase this as a gift.

To purchase a Groupon as a gift, select the deal from your daily email or directly on www.groupon.com, and then click the blue "Give as a Gift" link under the "Buy" button. Fill in the gift message and recipient information in the "Gift Options" pop-up window (the message will be displayed if you choose to send the gift via email). Click save, then fill in your payment information and click "Confirm Order".

If you want to purchase gifts for multiple people or place an additional order for yourself, you will have to make separate transactions. Please note that we include the purchase price on all Groupons (including gifts) so that they can be redeemed for that amount after the expiration date. This is required by expiration laws and simplifies the post-expiration redemption process for customers and businesses. Hope that helps!

A:

This is a very good start for him...all of our flight time counts toward a license. Legally 40 hrs. is required but realistically most people take between 50 and 60 hrs to complete the course. Feel free to call us for full information or visit our website under flight instruction where what to expect is explained.

Q:

Can a 14 yr old take flight lesson.

Rajesh B.  asked on  Nov 20, 2012

A:

Anyone who wants to fly just has to be able to reach the pedals. I don't think I have ever come across a 14 year old who was too small. We run AeroCamps in the summer starting from age 12-18 and everyone has been fine in those groups. So yes!

Q:

I Would like to purchase this for my 10 year old daughter. Would she be allowed to fly? She loves Amelia Earhart and is very interested in becoming a pilot. Thanks, stefanie

Stefanie W.  asked on  Nov 20, 2012

A:

She can fly, as long as she can reach the pedals. I'd say on average this is about 4'10"-5'. However even if she can not reach the pedals, she may ride as a passenger no matter what. There is no age or height limit to ride.
