A postmodern ghost story unfolds in the playful yet haunting new drama Nothing of Me. In the wake of an unspeakable tragedy, a wife and mother walks away from her entire life for a new relationship with a much younger man. But is she embracing a fresh start or is she sinking deeper into self-destruction? Written by Norwegian playwright Arne Lyre, Nothing of Me uses ruthless, sometimes graphic dialogue to signal a warning about the dangers we all face when our love for others imprisons them in the bonds of our own expectations. It comes to Signal Ensemble Theatre courtesy of Akvavit Theatre, an innovative new Chicago company that draws its inspiration from the striking landscapes of five Nordic countries.
