Boats allow man to explore the last uncharted territory: the other side of the marina. Explore aquatic worlds with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $19 for a five-hour whale-watching excursion for one (up to a $36 value)
- $14 for a three-hour evening fireworks cruise for one (a $22 value)
Whale-watching excursions travel up to 40 miles offshore in pursuit of humpback, finback, and minke whales, as well as dolphins and sharks. During these excursions, the crew gathers information about the whales to report to the cetacean-research unit in Gloucester, Massachusetts. This Groupon is valid for all excursions during the 2013 whale-watching season.
On evening fireworks cruises, guests listen to a DJ and dance the Electric Slide while the boat traverses four miles before stopping a half mile off shore of the Isles of Shoals. As the boat slips past, the crew offers a narrated tour of the area. The boat eventually sets anchor to take in the fireworks.
Al Gauron Deep Sea Fishing & Whale Watching
Al Gauron Deep Sea Fishing & Whale Watching’s three boats ferry up to 60 passengers out into the Atlantic’s cobalt waters during fishing excursions, and up to 150 while whale-watching. The fleet also escorts passengers across the ocean on evening fireworks cruises.
Al Gauron’s sea-seasoned team takes fishermen miles offshore on 2-, 4-, and 9-hour deep-sea fishing trips that have yielded fish up to 20 pounds in the past. Anglers have even been known to catch up to 100 mackerel on four-hour trips. For close encounters with humpbacks, finbacks, minke whales, and giant sharks, the ships sail 25-30 miles offshore on four-hour whale-watching trips. The naturalist educates passengers on the whales, such as pod size and each whale’s sweater size, while promoting the appreciation, understanding and protection of marine life.
