In Al Wadi's warm, recently revamped space, resident chefs concoct traditional Lebanese dishes with the contemporary flare of elegant presentation. The extensive menu features 13 vegetarian mezze options and 10 dishes with hearty helpings of delicately prepped meats. Entrees include finger-friendly fare such as the lamb kebabs ($22) and lighter eats such as the mediterranean salad dressed with olives and feta cheese ($9). A Lebanese dessert, such as essmalia—sweet cheese melted beneath a canopy of semolina crust and drizzled with rose-water syrup—conclude meals sweeter than a toast from a greeting-card copywriter.

With the restaurant's impeccably detailed adornment of amber lighting and earth-toned surfaces, the space welcomes guests to gather for any special occasion, including carbon-copy Wednesday. Golden rings crown imported Egyptian chandeliers dripping with jewels, which cast splintered beams across marble pillars and plush leather banquettes.

Al Wadi Restaurant

At Al Wadi Restaurant, cooks transport palates to Beirut with flame-grilled kebabs and stews seasoned with Lebanese spices.
