About aLaCart Art
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
aLaCart Art is a custom theme art party planning service hosted in restaurants & clubs nearby. Intrigue delights your friends, family & colleagues creating memories together flexing artistic muscles. Our insight of the artistic process is lent to your vision; making the piece we paint your own. We pride ourselves in helping everyone activate their "Artistic License".
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
The sum of experience as a graphic illustrator, commercial designer, director of an art school w/ 24 teachers & personally a dining club where we hosted themed dinner parties. My first events were 20+ yrs ago; family reunions & friend's birthday parties, of all ages in various crafts. The real push came after reading "A Whole New Mind" by Daniel Pink, where he described intrinsic need to develop creativity personally & globally as our culture evolves from the Informational Age to the Conceptual Age emerging.
What do you love most about your job?
The events themselves; there are many steps prior to the event that are gratifying, like designing a piece to be painted in 2 hrs; being w/ the guests as they celebrate the moments of their lives; making my contribution to their choice to be w/ us makes it the highlight of my day. It's fun to lead guests through the process as they realize they "do" have an artistic bone in their body & w/ our "Mental Yoga", they too can see themselves leading more creative lives & have a painting to prove it. I do love to see gracious reviews from guest shouting out to the world about their aLaCart Art experience. I am always open to talking w/ our guests.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
It's the 180; "the dudes" come in trailing their ladies, swearing they have never painted in their life, yet they step by step follow the instructions best & in the end; smugly sit like a Cheshire Cat in front of their prize; saying "I get it".
