As I said, it is a class that is not for beginners. My friend and I were pretty crippled the first week. A little more attention to form and weight for first timers might be beneficial, but that is also coming from the perspective of someone who is used to one on one training. I worry about injury. But the trainers are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I also really like the flexibility associated with the program. It's nice being able to go to different times depending on my schedule.
  • Attend up to 12 classes
  • Quick, early morning workouts
  • Fat-loss nutritional planning
  • Four convenient locations

Unlike summer camps, boot camps won't require you to put on a fund-raising talent show to stop a nefarious computer company from turning Lake Cowabunga into its new industrial-waste depository. Team up to fight unfitness with today's Groupon: for $49, you get one month of boot camp, which lets you attend up to 12 classes, at F.I.T. Boot Camps (a $247 value). Classes last 30-45 minutes and are held at 5:30 a.m. at four convenient locations in Albany, Clifton Park, Scotia-Schenectady, and Saratoga Springs, which also holds classes at 6:30 and 9:30 a.m.

F.I.T.'s experienced and energetic fitness specialists lead campers through vigorous, fast-paced workout routines to help them drop fat cells quicker than cell phones drop reception in underwater elevators. Your month of muscle morphing will also include nutritional guidance to help you prevent bacon-encrusted bacon from slithering its way onto your dinner plate. Reviews

The Times Union featured Albany F.I.T. Boot Camp and The Saratogian specifically featured the Saratoga Springs location of the program:

  • Not unlike the popular boot camp-style workouts offered in various forms around the country, Saratoga F.I.T. Boot Camp focuses on fat loss and muscle building through short bouts of high-intensity exercise and short rest periods. Push-ups, squats, weight-lifting, stretching, running and circuit training are de rigueur during the 30- to 45-minute classes… – Mareesa Nicosia, The Saratogian

About F.I.T. Fit Strength Training and Conditioning

Corey House founded F.I.T. Strength and Conditioning to help people get in shape with effective workouts bolstered by nutritional support. To come up with fun, high-intensity boot-camp routines, the staff pored over research and analyzed training formats aimed at burning fat and building muscles. They've seen the results time after time as MRT Session members of every shape and athletic ability shed pounds, boost their health, and fare better at family log-tosses. Because the MRT Sessions are indoors, the staff leads them continuously throughout the year, rather than putting members on hold during breaks between sessions or taking the winter off. They help map out smart food choices with nutritious meal planning, and offer private coaching to help members make the most of their workouts.
