"Made in Alberta" brings life to a host of local choreographers' classic and contemporary dance creations that showcase regional fire-footed dance troupes. Watch as the Breaking Barres company tap dances across floorboards and piles of effervescent bubble wrap, then energize internal rhythms as Usha Gupta performs storytelling East Indian Kathak moves. In addition to these established styles, the evening also brings the beats of Afro-jazz fusion dance, and the levitation of hip-hop dance courtesy of Calgary native Saxon Fraser. The feats - Festival of Dance is presented by the Alberta Dance Alliance, a nonprofit arts organization that promotes and educates dancers in communities across Alberta.
