Found this place via Groupon and decided to give it a try as I'm new to the area and haven't tried many local places. Upon arrival, my guest and I were seated promptly and given our menus. They have a pretty decent dinner selection; appetizers, pasta, fish, chicken, seafood, etc. We opted to skip an appetizer and just order two entrees; the Pollo Montese and the Gnocchi with Salmon. The gnocchi came with asparagus and shallots in a vodka sauce and was a generous portion and my partner said it was decent. My meal was a piece of grilled chicken on top of mostly onions, some zucchini, and carrots with a balsamic glaze. The giant pieces of onion were a bit of a turn-off, never had an entire onion cut into chucks as a "vegetable side" but the glaze was good. We were asked what we wanted to drink and were given bottled water which was fine. The Groupon was for a credit of $40 towards the price of the meal. The prices on their website aren't the prices they charge at the restaurant. Our meals should have been around $50, maybe $55 including the bottled water which we were never told they weren't free; nonetheless when we received the check our balance due was $22, not $10 or $15. Not sure how 2 entrees at $26 and $23 and 2 bottles of water came to $62.00 but I was tired and $22 wasn't that much. Also the owner Alex was very kindHowe throughout the entire experience and we felt bad as we knew things must not have been easy during the lockdown. However, his politeness is extremely phony because we left a $10 tip and when I got home and checked the notification from my bank, I was charged $29. Meaning after he charged the $22, he went back and added a tip to the card, which I marked on the receipt as we left cash. The bill was inflated, the charge to my card was inflated and the owner should be ashamed of himself. Skip this place as it the food isn't worth those prices, you can take the path to NYC and visit little Italy and pain the same price for better food and not worry about shady practices.
It was our first time there, i went with 2 friends and my wife and the food was amazing. The owner, Alex, is a very pleasant man. He is so polite and attentive. The price is a little above average for dinner, its not the same as the pictures you find here on Groupon. However I will say the portion of the dishes was huge and the quality of the food was top notch. Well worth the price. 10/10

About Alex's Italian Restaurant
Alex's Italian Restaurant’s chefs combine pasta noodles, veggies, meats, and flavor-packed sauces to create classic Italian dishes. A pink vodka cream sauce blankets cheese tortellini and prosciutto, while a cream pesto sauce clings to bay scallops and rigatoni flamed with a splash of brandy. A cognac sauce makes an appearance, from topping entrees full of chicken and veal to appetizers of pan-seared scallops and portobello mushrooms. Whatever meal the diner settles on, all can be paired with salads and soup such as zuppa del giorno, as well as beverages brought from home. For those who want even more food, chefs can super-size dishes for catered parties with buffet-style and sit-down-style menus.
