At the age at which most children learn to speak, Mozart had already composed four symphonies, restored 11 classic cars, and built a robot to play against in squash. Catch up to Mozart's accomplishments with today's Groupon: for $49, you get four private music lessons at Allegro Music Inc. (a $100 value).
Allegro Music's teachers impart their encyclopedic and experiential tune-wrangling knowledge to students on a host of instrument choices. Pupils can learn many styles of music, including Beethoven’s blindfolded approach, on strings, brass, woodwind, guitar, percussion, piano, or voice. Private sessions for all ages and proficiencies are held once a week for four consecutive weeks and encourage players to achieve their musical visions with custom lessons in whittling one’s style, specific performance goals, and a new instrument from balsa wood.
Allegro Music owner Jacqueline Serpas, who holds a master’s degree in music performance from McGill, has won numerous awards and has had a live performance broadcast on CBC radio and stereo. The studio has taught more than 500 student musicians per year since 1996, who have since formed an orchestra too large to ever rehearse.
Allegro Music Inc.
Ranging from symphony violinists to music PhD candidates at York, the teachers at Allegro Music Inc. have worked with thousands of children and adults in music education programs since the school’s founding in 1996. In private, one-on-one classes, the musicians keep track of each student’s personal progress as they learn to master the dexterity to strum a guitar or the deep, booming voice to sing through a trombone. In addition to private sessions, Allegro Music offers group sessions in which pupils participate in theory discussions to better understand the intricacies of music.
