Q:

What is the difference between "ablative" and "non-ablative" laser skin resurfacing? My Dermatologist highly suggested non-ablative laser procedures for my condition.

L l.  asked on  May 14, 2012

A:

Ablative lasers cause an intense exfoliation or peeling of the outer layer of the skin. Non-ablative techniques, such as PhotoFacial use pulsed light or high-frequency to penetrate to the deeper layers and cause change to the skin from the inside-out rather than the outside-in. We offer the latest technology in both ablative and non-ablative therapies and recommend you take advantage of a free consultation with the owner to determine what is best suited for your needs and desired outcome. To schedule a consultation, call our appointment desk at 480-899-4111

Q:

Is there any down time if a procedure is done on the face?

Therese N.  asked on  May 14, 2012

A:

Down-time is minimal. Typically there is a 72 hour period where you would not want to attend the Officer's Ball, but the healing generally occurs rather quickly. What is important during the first 72 hours is to avoid sun exposure and strenuous exercise. Your face will feel like a sunburn for the first 24-48 hours, however there is not any major discomfort involved. You will be provided with the proper recovery ointments for home application and at least 2 follow-up visits will be scheduled to check on your progress.

Q:

I didn't see arms listed. are arms an area that the package would work for?

Amanda B.  asked on  May 15, 2012

A:

Yes, arms would be covered under this purchase. We would do a consultation to make sure that is the right direction to take for your needs. Erbium is used on the arms mostly for skin tags, pigmentation, etc, as "spot treatments", not as an all-over treatment.
