What You'll Get
Along with fashion and food, the French are famed for making beautiful music, and the Alliance Francaise Silicon Valley pays tribute to that cultural contribution with their third annual festival of classical music at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Harpsichordist Derek Tam leads the Bay Area baroque septet known as Musa through 17th-century works by François Couperin, André Campra and Jacquel Morel, as well as Nicolas Bernier's energetic "Coffee" cantata, while the acclaimed chamber-music group Ensemble San Francisco are set to perform Ravel's Sonate pour violon et violoncelle and Fauré's Piano Quintet No. 2. There's a reception with wine and light appetizers following each concert.
Each concert lasts approximately 75 to 90 minutes, with an intermission.
