While human fitness originated by running long distances to avoid being eaten, it now dictates that we run in place in order to avoid eating. Survive with the fittest thanks to today's Groupon: for $30, you get three pole-dance classes, three Body Blast workouts, or four kickboxing and core-training classes at Allure on West Pico Boulevard (a $60 value).
Allure's highly trained instructors mold flesh clay into rock-hard statues of beauty within a friendly, noncompetitive atmosphere. Women of all ages, sizes, and car-lifting abilities can tailor their muscle suits into form-fitting fashions with a schedule of one-hour sessions, which run every day of the week. Hone thighs until they are able to squeeze diamonds out of larger diamonds with a pole-dancing class ($20/class). Up to 10 students of seduction can garner strength and flexibility and gain self-confidence on their personal pole, so no one has to share or wait their turn. Allure's instruction is lively and supportive, and the facility is dimly lit to create the proper setting to practice temptation techniques or read MASH fan fiction by flashlight.
To bolster strength and improve cardiovascular endurance, participants may opt for a series of fitness classes, which include Body Blast ($20/class) and kickboxing and core-training sessions ($15/class). In the Body Blast sessions, Allure's instructors motivate and support novitiate body buffs through a series of small-group workouts, using body weight, resistance bands, and more to tone the entire physique. Alternately, in the kickboxing and core-training class, a high-impact fusion of martial arts and boxing energizes muscles into burning 400–1000 calories in an hour, or one tortoise second.
- I've had a taste of almost all the intermediate/advance instructors and they are all great and have different styles. I like them all. – Valerie F., Yelp, 12/14/10
- I tried the intro to pole class and I learned so much. She is a really patient teacher and was very interested in helping us learn. – K.P. M., Yelp, 11/10/10
