Amaya's Bread Bar delights esurient guests with a host of authentic and inventive Indian fare served in surrounds festooned with ruby-red chairs, colourful fixtures, and vibrant art. Tasting menu One kicks off with two starters including chaat tacos that lasso tongue buds with chickpeas and puffed rice, followed by a quartet of main dishes such as tamatar wali halibut lounging in a fresh tomato broth. Sides of chana masala, indian flatbread, and dal makhani accompany entrees on the long, thankless journey from plate to expectant mouth. Those opting for Tasting Menu Two rev up for gustatory adventures with starters of Amaya prawns cloaked in green mango curry alongside continent-bridging butter-chicken poutine. Other main dishes include beef masala sliders that shimmy into mouths dressed in delicate spices and the most fashionable accessory of all, confidence. A vegetarian duo of saag paneer and sweet-and-sour eggplant pleases herbivorian humans and cannibalistic eggplants alike.

Indian Bread Bar

Coral hues and sedimentary stone walls surround patrons at Indian Bread Bar, where the kitchen creates casually inventive Indian cuisine. Inside, a team of highly skilled and professionally trained chefs from India craft authentic dishes with a combination of authentic Indian herbs and spices. After walking between tied-back rose-and-gold curtains, parties alight at red and ochre tables and dine on starters such as beef-masala sliders and butter chicken poutine. Chartreuse plates host entrees of tamatar wali halibut seared in a garlicky tomato broth or curries such as the coastal-prawn curry, which swims in coconut milk amid spices of mustard seeds, curry leaves, and tamarind. Diners can choose to inside the dining room, where paintings hang on white walls, or sit out on the patio to catch a fresh breeze.

This is a more expensive Indian restaurant - more upscale. Food was delicious and made as ordered and spiciness could be controlled by request. Charming staff. Good sized portions so I got to take enough home for another meal of tasty left-overs.
