About Amedeo's Pizza Apex
Richard DeAngelis opened the original Amedeo's in 1963. Over the next 50 years, that original location became a staple of the Raleigh dining scene. It grew so popular, in fact, that it's almost surprising that it wasn't until 2015 that a second Amedeo's opened in Apex. Though they're more than a half-century apart in age and have very different tastes in music, both locations carry plenty of tradition—through the food on the menu, sure, but also through the sports memorabilia on the walls.
Indeed, most of the old favorites from the original Amedeo's made it to the menu in Apex. That includes the restaurant's famous lasagna, which is layered with parmesan, ricotta, ground beef, and sausage. Pizza, of course, also remains one of Amedeo's specialties. The selection includes a traditional margarita, as well as a meat lover's pie loaded with pepperoni, bacon, Italian sausage, ground beef, and ham.
